  • Job Posting: School Nurse (Part-Time)

    District: Kalida Local Schools

    Position Type: Part-Time (Minimum of 2 days per week)

    Hours: 10:00 AM – 2:30 PM

    Location: Multiple Buildings (Split between Elementary and Middle School/High School)

    Kalida Local Schools is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and qualified School Nurse to join our team. This part-time role is perfect for a nursing professional looking for a predictable school-day schedule while making a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of our students.

    Key Responsibilities

    As a School Nurse, you will move between our elementary and middle/high school buildings to support student health. Daily duties include, but are not limited to:

    • Medication Administration: Safely disburse and log daily and prescribed medications for students.
    • Health Record Management: Maintain, review, and update student health and immunization records in compliance with state regulations.
    • First Aid & Triage: Provide assessment and basic first aid for illness and injuries occurring during the school day.
    • Care Plans: Assist in managing individualized healthcare plans for students with chronic conditions (e.g., diabetes, asthma, severe allergies).
    • Collaboration: Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and administration regarding student health concerns.

    Qualifications

    • Must hold a valid, current nursing license (RN or LPN) in the State of Ohio.
    • ODE (Ohio Department of Education) School Nurse License or School Nurse Wellness Coordinator certificate is a plus, or willingness to obtain.
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage records accurately.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and caring demeanor toward children of all ages.
